What's On Our iPad - Apraxia Ville

Throughout our Hard Candy Case giveaway, I'll be posting about our favorite apps we use on our iPad.  Some are specifically for speech therapy for my daughter who has Apraxia and some are educational.

Apraxia Ville

Apraxia Ville is an app specifically made for kids with Apraxia to use for speech therapy (in case you couldn't guess by the name).

When you first open the app, there's a great tutorial video of the app for you to watch & to walk you through it.... I recommend watching it so you can get the most out of this app for your child.

There are three sections to the app...
Note:  Lot's of people understand all of the speech therapist lingo, but I am not one of them... I'll break this app down as simply as possible for all of you who are like me!

The Sound Windows:
This section helps your child put two sounds together (CV).

The Farm House:
This part lets your child practice individual words (and also has a spot for CV cues if needed).

The Words Farm:
In this section, your child can practice sets of words (in groups of 2 or 3 words).

Although it took me a little while to find it, you can also add your own images, which I love.  There are many, many options for different sounds and sound combinations on this app.  Possibly the most I've ever seen on an app.

Although we enjoy using it at home, this looks like one of the best apps I've seen for group sessions in a professional setting or if you have more than one child with Apraxia.

My favorite part about the app is the variety of options that comes with this app.  You can work on the individual sounds, combining 2 sounds, individual words or word combinations, which is perfect for kids of all stages with Apraxia.  It's very versatile and this app with grow with your child.

If your child has Apraxia, this app would be a great investment for the long haul.
