What's On Our iPad? Talking ABC

Throughout our Hard Candy Case giveaway, I'll be posting about our favorite apps we use on our iPad.  Some are specifically for speech therapy for my daughter who has Apraxia and some are educational.

Talking ABC is an adorable educational app  that teaches kids the alphabet in a fun and creative way.  It's not like your grandma's ABC app!  haha, okay, obviously it's not, but I had to say it...

It has these cute claymation images that are animals that turn into letters.  It's songs are catchy & clever (& I'm not sick of hearing it over & over!).

They basically have 5 different parts to the app:

This section tells your child to find a certain letter amongst 5 others.  Once they find the right one, the letter turns into an animal that starts with that letter & does silly things.

This section tells the child to point to certain animals.  It has fun animation/clay-mation here.  Also, they don't just have normal animals like 'dog', so it's teaching your child about different types of animals.

Funny Words:
This is a section where you can type in any letter, word, or name.  It lets you play with the words/letters in a fun & new way!  (they turn into an animal)

They have easy & hard options.  Each option has 9 puzzle games putting an animal together.

This automatically plays their own cute version of the alphabet song.  It has an animal & graphic for each letter.  After the song is over you can pick one letter at a time & have a little fun with that letter & animal.

We really love this app at our house.  It's unique & fun.  I love that it teaches Paige about the alphabet in a way that no one else can.  They have made it fun to interact with the app, which will enhance learning.  I love it when I can give something to my daughter to "play with", but it is really teaching her.  It is a really well made app!

  1. That's maybe the best use for an app that I can think of :) It looks like it would be fun for little ones trying to learn. Maybe as my kiddo grows older (he's 7 and loves math) we can find a physics app, ha!

  2. This looks like a lot of fun for little ones. Thanks for sharing. This would make a great Christmas present.

I actually really love it when you comment! ;)
