Being a mom is one of my most important jobs in this life (if not THE most important job), so I want to take it seriously & do my best so that I have no regrets... or, as few regrets as possible.
I want to be more attentive to my kids.
Sometimes I find myself nodding, and saying 'uh huh' and not really listening to what my oldest daughter is trying to tell me.
I want to control my temper.
I didn't have a temper before I was a mom... I want don't want this to rub off on my children.
I want to teach my children how to be more kind & loving.
One of the best ways I can teach this is to do it myself. In addition to that, I want to give my girls more opportunities to look for ways they can be more kind & loving to others.
I want to be a more pleasant mom to be around.
No, I'm not talking about being their best friend, I'm just talking about being in a better mood, controlling my temper, and doing more fun things together.
I want to be more kind.
My girls are my most treasured gift, so I need to be better at treating them like they are.
I want to say yes more often than I say no.
I often find myself saying 'no' more than I would like to admit, but I think we're all happier when I say yes more often than I say no.
I want to spend more quality time with my daughters.
Even at their young ages, I find it harder than I'd like to spend quality time with them as often as I would like to. One way I plan on doing this is through the Monthly Service Challenge. You can read more about that here.
Being a mom in this day & age is a giant balancing act. I want to let my kids know that they are more important to me than anything... even my cell phone & computer!
That's a lot of New Year's Resolutions, but to sum it all up,
I want to be a more kind, happier, better mom.
I can't be the only one out there who feels the same way, right?
