My ID Square - Not Your Grandma's Medical ID

As you may or may not know, my oldest daughter has a neurological motor disorder called Apraixa (you can read more about that here).  Basically her brain has a hard time connecting with her body & telling it how to move properly.  Although it affects her whole body, it mostly affects her speech.  Because of this, I get extra protective of her while we're in public.  I'd really hate to have her get lost in a crowd because most people who don't know her wouldn't be able to understand her, so it would make for finding her extra tricky.

That's why when I found out about My ID Square, I was intrigued!  It's not a normal Medical ID Bracelet.  It's a new & improved version.  It's Medical ID Jewelry that has a QR Code you can scan.

I love this idea for many reasons:

Ability to Update Info:
I can update Paige's information without having to purchase a new ID (because of a new phone number or an additional diagnosis).  I can easily access her ID Square account at any time & add multiple emergency contacts.  In addition, if she was ever in an emergency situation, doctors could access her health history easily if I wasn't around (or if I was too scatterbrained at the time to remember).

It's Convenient:
It seems like everyone has a cell phone that can scan a QR Code nowadays.

It's Private:
If she didn't want everyone knowing her diagnosis, this is the only Medical ID that gives her privacy.  They also have some charms you can add on for those diagnosis you do want everyone to know about (ie: food allergies).  Also, strangers can't look at her name on a bracelet and trick her into thinking they know her.

I'm In The Loop:
I love that every time someone scans the QR Code, I'm notified.

My ID Square was made by a husband/wife team.  The husband (Joel) is a kidney specialist & the wife (Irene) is a software engineer.  I love that they joined forces to help families around the world.   They've done an awesome job of coming up with this idea & executing it.  I'm very impressed with the ease of accessing Paige's account & all of the information I can add.

I love this new concept for Medical IDs & would recommend them to anyone!
